Signed by John Taylor Gilamn, Governor of the State of N.H. on October 2, 1815. Also has note on when Samuel Currier took the oath of office and allegiance on October 17, 1815. (signed by Caleb Theith (?) Justice of the Peace. With affixed seal of New Hampshire in upper right hand corner. Has fold separations in several places. Paper frame stained on left side but does not affect document. |

Dated Nov. 15th, 1865 from Galveston, Tx. Relieving Surgeon Charles Braman White, U.S. Vols. from service. White who was born in Vermont and appointed for Louisiana in Oct. 1863 was breveted a Lieut. Co. in 1866 for "faithful service". The order assigns Surgeon P.A. Willis of the 4th Ohio to take over his duties by Surgeon Silas A. Holman, U.S. Vols. Medical Director of the Dept. of Texas. (Holman was breveted twice, once for the "campaign before Richmond, Va." and again for faithful and meritorius service during the war.
