Wisconsin Veteran Civil War Declaration for Invalid Pension
Application
Printed form, filled out in ink by Private Andrew Jackson of CO. D, 21st Wisconsin Volunteers, who was honorably discharged at Madison, Wisconsin in 1865. He is applying because of a "wound of thigh and debility from age" for total disability. Appoints J.W. Morris of Washington, D.C. as his attorney to prosecute his claim with power of substitution. Gives his address as County of Winnebago, State of Wisconsin. Signed by Jackson at the bottom. $ 40.00

Civil War Muster-Out Roll of Major Charles E. Clark

Muster our roll of "Charles E. Clark Major" in the "Sixth" Regiment of "Michigan Hy. Arty." Volunteers, commanded by Colonel "Edward Bacon" called into the service of the United States by "President" at "Kalamazoo" (the place of general rendezvous)... "mustered out as Major to accept an appointment as Lieut. Col. 6th Mich. Heavy Artillery Vols. Vice Bacon promoted muster out to date from April 30th 1864". 10 ¼"x 30 ½" overall. Civil War Soldier's Letter by Pvt. G. H. Clark, Co I, 33rd Regt.

Four pages, written in pencil on coated paper (8 ½"x 11" folded in half. Upper left hand corner of two pages embossed with "C S" in a shield (Camp Stanton). Written to his sister Abbie, it describes his first experience in camp, getting his first taste of Army life, receiving his uniform, sleeping in tent, etc. Comes with a transcription from someone else (not completely accurate).

Vermont Soldier's Letter Written by Pvt. Fitch Brown of the 8th Vt. Inf., to his father. Dated "Brattleboro Vt. Jan. 7th 1862", in browned ink on patriotic stationary with American flag (in color) on top page. Single page folded to create four pages, he writes about 39 men hospitalized "from being on picket duty these cold winter nights". He describes the barracks, beds, etc. and directs his father to send his letters to "Camp Nolbrook Co. A. Brattleboro Vermont". $ 50.00
