of an Apache Scout		 Cabinet photograph on an orange mount. Reverse has "List of Indian Pictures by Baker & Johnston, Landscape and Portrait Photographers." Marked at "92 Apache Scout". He wears loincloth, leg wraps, neckerchief amd hat, with gun belt. He holds a revolver in his left hand and appears to have a knife tucked into the belt at his right side. Web has it as "circa 1880, Yavapai man (or Tonto Apache)."A studio portrait, it has a pen mark that goes across the image. Also marked "92" in ink on the image. Approxiately 4-1/2" x7" overall. Has description "Army Indian Scouts_ the U.S. Cavalry, Ranchers and Indian Agents recruited Indian scouts from the reservations to pursue renegade bands of Indian, warring tribes and Indians who would 'illegally' leave the revervation.
