Silvertone photograph, board mount, approximately 11 x 14.5" overall, one corner missing of white border, lower left. Shows "Co. M -2nd Infantry, Illinois Volunteers -Photographed at CampTanner on May 16th 1898". Shows officers and NCO's in front, bugler and even the company dog. The 2nd Illinois Volunteer Infantry mustered into service at Camp Tanner, Springfield, Ill on May 15, 1898, so this was taken the next day. At the time of mustering, the regiment consisted of 50 officers and 980 enlisted men under the command of Col George Moulton. They served in the occupation forces in Cuba. | SALE $35.00 |
