Shows him in his uniform and cap. Taken by Prince, 31 Union Square, New York and Penn. Ave. & 11th st. Washington, D.C. Stamped "To Be Returned to Art Department." on back. Labeled in blue in "Brig. Gen. C.P. Eagan on front (see image) as well as in pencil on back. Eagan was the Commissary Generall who testified during the "embalmed beef" scandal of the Spanish American War. SALE $24.00

Illinois Volunteers
Silvertone photograph, board mount, approximately 11 x 14.5" overall, one corner missing of white border, lower left. Shows "Co. M -2nd Infantry, Illinois Volunteers -Photographed at CampTanner on May 16th 1898". Shows officers and NCO's in front, bugler and even the company dog. The 2nd Illinois Volunteer Infantry mustered into service at Camp Tanner, Springfield, Ill on May 15, 1898, so this was taken the next day. At the time of mustering, the regiment consisted of 50 officers and 980 enlisted men under the command of Col George Moulton. They served in the occupation forces in Cuba. SALE $35.00

There is also damage to the image to the right of the two soldiers boxing (above the hand of the soldier seated to the right holding towel in his lap. Several boys in the onlookers. SALE $15.00
