Heavy cloth bag with braided drawstring top with grommet for cord on one side. Stenciled in upper and lower case "Captain J.K. Fornance U.S. Army". He died in the Spanish American War. In 1871 he was a 2nd Lt. 13th Inf. In 1872 he was a 1st Lt. in the 13th Inf. In 1889 he was a Capt. in the 13th Inf. He died in San Juan, Cuba. SALE

Late Indian Wars- Spanish American War Enlisted Mans Garrison Hat. Has hat insignia for the 10th U.S. cavalry (the famed Black soldiers). Gilt corssed sabers with "10" above and "H" below.Wool with black vizor, black leather chin strap and US EM buttons. Has moth damage. Sweatband and lining intact. Lining has silver imprint for "B. PAsquale Co., Inc. Military, Naval, Society Goods 123 Geary St San Francisco." SALE $240.00

National Guard Dress Helmet
For the 14th Regiment (Brooklyn). Large brass and white metal "14" Excelsior plate, crossed rifle side buttons, gilt spike and base, and gilt chin strap hooks. Dark blue wool covered cork body.
